Dear Students, When AAU made the decision to establish the Faculty for Culinary Arts and Hospitality, it was in response to the increasing demand for careers in culinary and hospitality, not just within Jordan but also in the wider region and globally. We recognized the potential of Jordanian cuisine, with its rich history and diverse cultural influences from Persia, the Levant, and the Bedouins, to position Jordan as a leading destination for food tourism and gastronomy. Our vision was clear: to create a faculty equipped with state-of-the-art facilities tailored for culinary arts, food & beverage, and hospitality education. We aimed to prepare students to excel in their careers according to international standards, fostering talented chefs and hospitality managers capable of thriving in the dynamic global sector. To achieve this vision, our faculty's educational strategy integrates academic foundation, practical learning, and research, underpinned by a strong industry focus. Our strategic educational approach prioritizes four key pillars: leadership, innovation, digitization, and sustainability. In our commitment to preparing students to meet global transformation in tourism marketplace and ensuring their sustained competitiveness, we have developed an innovative learning environment based on Learner-Centered Education (LCE) theory and experiential learning approaches focusing on transferable skills, systems thinking, and hands-on training with industry experts. This is achieved through various mechanisms and networks to create meaningful partnerships with industry chefs and hospitality leaders to equip you with the tools needed to succeed in your career. Our goal is to nurture responsible professionals in hospitality management and culinary arts who are not only attuned to local cultures but also cognizant of global challenges. We aim for you to meet industry demands for employment while also contributing to the growth of the hospitality sector economy and driving forward sustainable tourism development in societies.
